In recent years Hyundai has been challenging Nissan for third place in American sales. Hyundai has finally gotten enough sales to be competitive and it will be interesting to watch if Hyundai can get ahead.“The latest Kelley Blue Book Market Intelligence findings show how the deck is being reshuffled in the automotive marketplace, with certain brands now holding places in consumer perception that we may not have believed just one or two years ago,” said James Bell, executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com, who specifically noted that “Hyundai is truly on a roll.”
One of the most impressive attributes of the Hyundai line up is the impeccable fuel efficiency. Hyundai has made a new goal for the line up of vehicles they produce; the combined average across the board of the vehicle line up will be 50mpgs. Talk about saving at the pump! Hyundai’s dedication to affordability and value is at an entirely new level.
“We’re committed to setting the pace in this industry on fuel economy, and we’re inspired by the possibilities that our advanced Blue Drive technologies afford,” said John Krafcik, Hyundai Motor America president and CEO. “Getting to 50 mpg and beyond seems like a huge leap, but by making this commitment and aligning our R&D initiatives now, we know we can get there.”
Vehicles such as the 2011 Hyundai Sonata already get up to 35-highway mpg so vehicles that can attain 50mpgs are in reach. In addition, Hyundai’s Hybrid has come to the US and has a lithium plymer battery pack to allow for 39 mpg on the highway. Hyundai is looking to save you money while at the same time being environmentally conscious.
